Tinfoil Hats and EM radiation

There will be many forms of electromagnetic fields which could cause brain tissue damage following 2012. Top scientists have issued recommendations that all people should outfit themselves with a hat as shown in the picture to "improve survivability by 20%".



A tin foil hat can significantly reduce the intensity of incident RF radiation on the wearer's brain. A well constructed tin foil enclosure would approximate a Faraday cage, reducing the amount of very harmful radiofrequency electromagnetic radiation inside the skull. A common high school physics demonstration involves placing an AM radio on tin foil, and then covering the radio with a metal bucket. This leads to a noticeable reduction in signal strength. The efficiency of such an enclosure in blocking such radiation depends on the thickness of the tin foil, as dictated by the skin depth, the distance the radiation can propagate in a particular non-ideal conductor. For half-millimeter-thick tin foil, radiation above about 20 kHz (i.e., including both AM and FM bands) would be partially blocked.

Owing to the large stockpiles of nuclear weaponry on the planet today, it is highly likely that there will be great amounts of nuclear fallout following 2012. Mutations will be highly likely among the poplance of the planet, and among the list of possible mutations there lies, at the top of that list, mutants with psychic and mind control abilities. Unprotected persons would be forced to act at the mutant's whim, effectively becoming mindless automatons in servitude to their master.
